Beef Tostadas

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 taco seasoning
  • 6 corn tortillas
  • 2 tbsp avocado oil
  • 2 cup cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large pan over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks.
  3. Once the beef is browned, add in the taco seasoning and mix until well combined. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  4. Set the beef mixture aside on a plate or tray.
  5. Line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  6. Place the corn tortillas evenly on the prepared baking sheet, making sure not to overlap them.
  7. Brush both sides of each tortilla with avocado oil to prevent them from drying out and to add flavor.
  8. Bake the tortillas in the preheated oven for 10 minutes, or until they are firm and lightly golden brown.
  9. Remove the tortillas from the oven and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over each one.
  10. Add a spoonful of the beef mixture on top of the cheese, leaving a small border around the edges of the tortilla.
  11. Sprinkle another layer of shredded cheese over the beef to help hold everything together and add extra flavor.
  12. Return the tostadas to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  13. Remove the tostadas from the oven and top with your favorite fixings, such as diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, diced avocado, sour cream, and salsa.
  14. Serve immediately and enjoy!
