Classic Pasta with Homemade Sauce

Ingredients
- 500 grams spaghetti
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 medium onion
- 3 cloves garlic
- 2 cups canned tomatoes
- to taste none salt
- to taste none black pepper
- 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Cook the spaghetti in the boiling water until it's al dente, about 8-10 minutes.
- While the spaghetti is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion to the saucepan and cook until it's translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic to the saucepan and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.
- Add the crushed canned tomatoes to the saucepan, stirring to combine with the onion and garlic.
- Season the sauce with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Reduce heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- When the spaghetti is done cooking, drain it and add it to the saucepan with the sauce.
- Toss the spaghetti in the sauce, ensuring it's well coated.
- Transfer the spaghetti to a serving dish and top with grated parmesan cheese.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
