Ingredients

  • 500 grams spaghetti
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 medium onion
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 cups canned tomatoes
  • to taste none salt
  • to taste none black pepper
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  2. Cook the spaghetti in the boiling water until it's al dente, about 8-10 minutes.
  3. While the spaghetti is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.
  4. Add the chopped onion to the saucepan and cook until it's translucent, about 5 minutes.
  5. Add the minced garlic to the saucepan and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.
  6. Add the crushed canned tomatoes to the saucepan, stirring to combine with the onion and garlic.
  7. Season the sauce with salt and black pepper to taste.
  8. Reduce heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  9. When the spaghetti is done cooking, drain it and add it to the saucepan with the sauce.
  10. Toss the spaghetti in the sauce, ensuring it's well coated.
  11. Transfer the spaghetti to a serving dish and top with grated parmesan cheese.
  12. Serve hot and enjoy!
