Method

  1. 1

Chop carrots, ginger, onion, and garlic.

  2. 2

Whisk together the dark liquid sauce, chopped ginger, and chopped garlic to make the marinade.

  3. 3

Add raw beef cubes to a pot and pour the dark liquid sauce and yellow liquid over the meat.

  4. 4

Add the chopped garlic, ginger, and onion to the pot and stir.

  5. 5

Cover the pot and let the beef braise until it is tender.

  6. 6

Add the chopped carrots to the simmering stew and continue to cook until the vegetables are soft.

  7. 7

Stir in the spinach and let it wilt.

  8. 8

Season with sesame seeds and green onion.

  9. 9

Plate the mashed potato base and ladle the stew over it.

Tips while you cook

Cover while braising
Keep the pot covered during the braising step to retain moisture and heat.
Add carrots later
Introduce the carrots after the beef is tender.
Wilt spinach briefly
Stir in the spinach just until it wilts to preserve its color and texture.
Plate base first
Place the mashed potato base on the plate before ladling the stew for cleaner serving.
