Delicious Mashed Potatoes

A classic recipe for mashed potatoes that can be made in advance and still taste great, featuring tender potatoes, creamy butter, and a hint of salt and pepper.

Delicious Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients

  • 4 large potatoes
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper

Instructions

  1. Place the chopped potatoes in a large pot and add enough cold water to cover them. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork.
  2. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add the butter, salt, and pepper, and mash the potatoes with a potato masher or a fork until they're smooth and creamy.
  3. Gradually add the milk, stirring to combine, until the potatoes reach your desired consistency.
  4. Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed.
  5. Serve the mashed potatoes hot, garnished with chopped fresh herbs if desired.
