Method

  1. 1

Cut the mozzarella cheese into stick‑shaped pieces.

  2. 2

Set up a breading station: place flour in one bowl, whisked eggs in a second bowl, and breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, and black pepper in a third bowl.

  3. 3

Coat each mozzarella stick in flour, then dip in the beaten eggs, and finally roll in the seasoned breadcrumbs. Repeat the coating process a second time for extra crunch.

  4. 4

Heat oil in a deep pan until hot (about 350°F / 350°F). Fry the coated mozzarella sticks until golden brown, about 2–3 minutes, then remove and drain on paper towels.

  5. 5

While the sticks are still hot, brush them with hot oil to help the Nashville hot sauce adhere.

  6. 6

Prepare the Nashville hot sauce by mixing garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, black pepper, salt, and brown sugar with the hot oil until well combined.

  7. 7

Brush the hot sauce over the fried mozzarella sticks and serve immediately.

Tips while you cook

Double coating for crunch
Repeat the flour‑egg‑breadcrumb coating a second time before frying.
Maintain oil temperature
Heat the oil to about 350°F (175°C) and fry the sticks for 2–3 minutes.
Apply sauce while hot
Brush the hot sauce onto the sticks immediately after frying while they are still hot.
