- 4Add chicken base to the pot containing diced vegetables.
- 5Add diced potatoes, diced carrots, and additional diced onions (if desired) to the pot.
- 6Pour in water and add bay leaf, bring to a simmer.
- 7Add clams and cod pieces, cover and cook until clams open and fish is cooked through, about 10 minutes.
- 8Stir the chowder.
- 9Remove from heat, stir in chopped dill, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
