Homemade Bone Broth Richin Collagen

Recipe by Blanca on InstagramAdded 3 November 2026.

  • 7 ingredients

15 minutes to prep, 2 hours to cook. A nourishing bone broth packed with collagen from chicken feet and ham bone, brightened by a splash of apple cider vinegar that helps release nutrients. Slow-simmered until silky and gelatinous, it makes a comforting, gut‑friendly drink.

Method

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 400°F (400°F). Arrange the chicken feet, chicken thighs (or carcasses), ham bone, carrots, and cabbage on a roasting tray.

  2. 2

Drizzle a generous splash of unfiltered apple cider vinegar over the ingredients and roast for 15–20 minutes, stirring once to ensure even browning.

  3. 3

Transfer the roasted ingredients to a large pot, add enough water to fully cover them, and bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat.

  4. 4

Reduce the heat to low and let the broth simmer for at least 2 hours, or longer for a richer, more gelatinous result.

  5. 5

Strain the broth through a fine-mesh sieve, discard the solids, and let the liquid cool before refrigerating; it will set into a jelly-like consistency when cold.

Tips while you cook

Roast before simmering
Roast the bones and vegetables first to develop deeper flavor before adding water.
Cover with water
Add enough water to fully cover the roasted ingredients before bringing to a gentle simmer.
Cool before refrigerating
Allow the strained broth to cool before placing it in the refrigerator.
