Instructions
- In a medium-sized bowl, mix together the sliced strawberries and granulated sugar until the strawberries are well coated.
- Let the strawberry mixture sit for about 15 minutes, allowing the strawberries to release their juice and the sugar to dissolve.
- After 15 minutes, add the water to the bowl and stir to combine.
- Using a fork or potato masher, gently mash the strawberries to release more of their juice and to create a slightly chunky texture.
- Continue to mash the strawberries until you reach your desired consistency.
- Taste the mixture and add more sugar if desired.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the mixture for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
