Cinnamon Roll Icing (without cream cheese!)

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • a pinch salt

Instructions

  1. In a medium-sized bowl, combine 1/4 cup of softened unsalted butter, 2 cups of powdered sugar, 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt.
  2. Use a hand or stand mixer to mix the ingredients until they are well combined, which should take about 30-60 seconds.
  3. Add milk one tablespoon at a time, starting with 2 tablespoons and adding up to 4 tablespoons, until the icing reaches your desired consistency.
  4. Continue mixing until the icing is smooth and creamy.
  5. Pour the icing over slightly cooled cinnamon rolls.
  6. Spread the icing evenly over the rolls to ensure they are fully coated.
